By visiting this website or installing and using the pxlmonk application, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the website or the application.

2. The Website

This website provides information about pxlmonk, a waitlist sign-up for the upcoming release, and a contact form. We try to keep information on this website accurate and up to date, but pxlmonk is under active development and features, timelines, and pricing described here may change before release.

3. Pre-release Status & Waitlist

pxlmonk has not been publicly released at the time of writing. Signing up for the waitlist does not create a contract of sale, a subscription, or any payment obligation — it is solely a request to be notified by email once the application becomes available. We do not guarantee a specific release date.

4. Software License (Once Released)

Once released, pxlmonk will be distributed under a proprietary end-user license: we grant you a non-exclusive, non-transferable right to install and use the application, in the Free tier or a purchased Pro tier, for your own personal or professional photo-editing purposes. You may not decompile, reverse-engineer, redistribute, sublicense, or resell the application itself, except to the extent such restrictions are not permitted by applicable law.

pxlmonk uses a number of third-party open-source libraries, each under its own license (for example LibRaw, licensed LGPL with dynamic linking, and other MIT/Apache/public-domain components). A full list of third-party licenses is included with the application itself.

5. Free and Pro Tier

pxlmonk is offered as a freemium product: a Free tier with full-quality, non-destructive editing (subject to a watermark and resolution cap on export), and an optional Pro tier unlocked via a one-time in-app purchase that removes those export restrictions and adds additional features (such as film negative conversion, creative 3D LUTs, and 16-bit TIFF export). Pricing and the exact feature split will be published on this website and confirmed inside the application before purchase.

6. Your Content

pxlmonk is a local, offline-first application. Your photos, edits, and catalog data remain on your own device; we do not receive, store, or claim any rights in your photos or the images you create with the application.

7. No Warranty for Pre-release Information

Information on this website about a not-yet-released product (features, screenshots, pricing, timelines) is provided on a best-effort basis and without warranty of completeness or that the final product will match this description in every respect. Once released, the application's own license terms and documentation take precedence for the shipped product.

8. Limitation of Liability

We are liable without limitation for intent and gross negligence, and for damages resulting from injury to life, body, or health. For simple negligence, we are only liable for breach of a material contractual obligation (cardinal obligation), and in that case limited to the foreseeable, typically occurring damage. Liability under the German Product Liability Act remains unaffected.

9. Changes to These Terms

We may update these terms from time to time, for example as pxlmonk moves from pre-release to a shipped product. The version published on this page is always the current one.

10. Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Germany, excluding the UN Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods, without prejudice to any mandatory consumer protection provisions of your country of residence.
